Your flowers are pretty darn important since they will be in almost all of your wedding pictures and they are likely to be your most expensive wedding day accessory!
I think in the whole wedding planning process, choosing and designing my bridal bridal bouquet was the most fun of all! Stop scouring the web for what OTHER brides have done! I am guilty of this sin myself and I think I drove myself a little bit crazy searching for bouquets that have already been done and loved by someone else! It took a family member from out of town to come in and snap me out of my cliche-been-there-done-that-bridal-bouquet coma. And when she did the whole world opened up to me! white flower girl dresses When I took my walks int he morning I was inspired by the weeds and grasses along the bay, when I went to the park I took pictures of interesting flowers and trees–the bottom line: I became inspired by the nature around me! beach wedding dresses ; Use your smartphone to take pictures of any and every flower that you like and use Google images for good (not evil) by finding out what type of flower it is and if it will hold up in your bouquet!

TIP #2: Meditate! Yes, we are still talking about a bouquet here! Now that you’ve stopped scouring the web, sit down somewhere and close your eyes and envision your dress, your earrings, your bridesmaids’ dresses , your flower girls , your location. Try to insert yourself into the future and into your wedding day. Get your mind totally engrossed in envisioning these details and then ask your mind to envision your bouquet! wedding dresses on line ; If you’re lucky, the shape and overall design will come to you, but hey, there are no guarantees! If that’s the case or you’re still having trouble envisioning your bouquet go straight to a florist. You can shop around for a florist, you can go off a recommendation or you can consult my one of my best friends, Yelp! Either way “get thee to a florist!” and fast because their expertise and insider information will really help you come up with a bouquet design idea. Maybe you love peonies but your wedding is in late July, guess what? Those flowers are seasonally unavailable and will cost an arm and a leg to incorporate into your bouquet! Florists will work within your budget and suggest flowers that are seasonally in peak. Also, florists will have books with all the previous bouquets they have done that you can look through and discuss with the florist (hey, a Google image can’t carry a conversation with you!).
TIP #4: Be Open-Minded! Choosing your bridal bouquet is not the time to exert your inner Bridezilla! I was guilty of this one, bad! Early on I had an image of the bridal bouquet I wanted and in my mind, I was NOT going to budge. Just because you go to a consultation doesn’t mean you’re “married” to that particular florist, even if they do start drawing up your order and asking for your form of payment for the deposit (they are sales people after all and will try hard to close the sale)! But it pays to shop around! Get a quote for the kind of bouquet and the types of flowers used and call other florists to ask for their price. If you have a pretty standard bouquet then this makes even more sense because the craftsmanship and creativity aren’t as important.
